One line

SkillTiles turns any subject into swipe-sized lessons you can finish in under a minute.

Short

SkillTiles is a mobile learning app that breaks real skills into tiles — single ideas you read, answer or attempt in 30 to 90 seconds. Each skill is a structured path of milestones rather than a feed, so progress accumulates instead of scrolling past.

Long

SkillTiles is a mobile learning app built on a simple observation: people will happily spend twenty minutes scrolling, but not twenty minutes on a lesson. So the lesson became the scroll. Every skill is broken into tiles — a concept, a quiz, a common mistake, a challenge — each one a single idea that takes 30 to 90 seconds. Tiles are grouped into milestones, milestones into skills, and the whole path is ordered so difficulty ramps rather than jumps. Content is generated and continuously revised against a pedagogical spec, which is what lets the catalogue span 180 skills without thinning out.

Colour

One accent, and it means one thing: earned. If an accent element isn't reporting progress or offering the next action, it's in the wrong colour.

Wisteria#AC7BE8--color-primaryPrimary. Earned state — progress, XP, streak, and the single action on a screen.
Wisteria Deep#9560DB--color-primary-darkPressed and hover only. Never used as a second accent.
On Wisteria#140F1D--color-on-primaryType set on an accent fill. Near-black with a faint violet cast.
Ground#0E1013--bg-rootPage ground. Blue-cast near-black. Every surface is a step off this.
Raise#171A20--bg-elevatedThe one lifted surface. Code blocks, takeaways. Nothing casts a shadow.
Ink#ECEEF2--text-primaryBody and display type on the ground.

Contrast

PairingRatioVerdictNote
Wisteria on Ground6.1:1PassSafe at any size, down to 9px labels.
Ink on Wisteria6.1:1PassHow the accent goes large — solid fill, dark type.
Ink on Ground16.4:1PassDefault body pairing.
White on Wisteria3.1:1NeverNever. The one obvious way to break the palette.
Accent as body copyNeverLegible but exhausting. Body stays grey; the accent is state.

Typography

Geist throughout, with Geist Mono for code. Hierarchy comes from the spread between label and display, not from colour — a 9.5px tracked label against a 52px title.

How we write

DoSay the concrete thing. “30 to 90 seconds”, not “bite-sized”.
DoName the subject. A tile is about recursion or the subjunctive, never about “content”.
Don'tUse “simply”, “just” or “basically” — nothing is simple to someone meeting it for the first time.
Don'tSet the brand name as Skilltiles, Skill Tiles or SKILLTILES. It is SkillTiles, one word, two capitals.
